I know I can't, but can I anyway?

So, as I mentioned, this blog is about the stupid things people say. To start off, we will discuss the work seminar that I suffered through went to for the past two days. It was a long couple of days.
I have to admit it wasn't all bad. I met a lot of really cool people and learned a lot of new techniques that I can apply at work.
But there was that one girl that made the classes almost unbarable. You know the girl I'm talking about. The know-it-all that wont shut up if you payed her?
Seriously, this was one of her questions. Imagine, if you will, this entire thing being said in a valley-girl voice for the full effect:
"Like, I totally know that we aren't supposed to use (insert product name here) for (insert skin condition here) but, like, a client came in and asked if she could. Like, I told her no but I said I was coming here and I would ask when I got here. So, like, even though the instructions, the Source Book and my manager say I can't use the product for this condition, can I anyway?"
Seriously?!
Who let you in here? Go home!
Everyone in the room audibly groaned every time the girl opened her mouth. Which she did a lot!
Let's break apart what she said here:
"Like, I totally know we aren't supposed to use this product for this condition". Who taught you how to talk to people? Because you're doing it wrong. She used the word "like" four times in her question. And that was just one of the brilliant things that came out of her mouth.
Then there was her trying to defend her action: "I told her no." Did you really? Or is it just that no one here will call you out on it?
Her bringing in her resources was pretty good. I'll translate: "I consulted with three different sources, all of which say I can't do this. But I didn't like that answer. Will you give me a new one?"
I feel like that's a problem with most of the girls that are under the age of 25. They don't like the word "no." Which I get. It's not a nice word to hear. People call that a go-getter attitude but really, it's a lack of respect for authority. And she sounded stupid while she did it!
Honey, you just made twenty-something women everywhere face-palm. Serously. Go home.
